Putting a horse in the Alhambra

For my series ”Horses in the Alhambra” I am always looking for a nice horse, usually in books, with an unusal colour or coat pattern. I found a photo showing an Arabian mare with a very unusual piebald pattern.
Now purebred Arab horses are never, ever piebald. This mare had some genetic defect which gave her this nice colouring. It was unique to her, it was not inherited by her offspring.

The sketch of Trabag in a courtyard of the Alhambra.

Halfway through, I’m now adding layers of gouache
